Rajib Karmakar is a performer, educator and digital artist. Rajib is performing frequently in India and abroad including USA, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland etc. and has given performances in Festival of India(Ottawa), Boom Festival(Portugal), Hip-Hop Connection Festival (Austria), Festival De Papillotes(France), Ministry of Culture(Spain), European Yoga Congress(Switzerland), Ganesh Mahotsav(India), ARS Musica(Germany) etc and was awarded numerous awards including “Surmani” , California Institute of the Arts Scholarship.
Neel Agrawal | Instructor - Drums, Percussion and Tabla
Neel Agrawal is a multi-percussionist incorporating various styles of world percussion into his own unique musical voice. Neel performs in a wide range of musical contexts, including fusion, Indian and Western classical, rock, jazz, electronic, hip hop, film scores, and theater. Neel currently performs with groups such as Yes Machine, Arohi Ensemble, and Ethnotronika. He recently completed a fellowship at the Harvard Library Innovation Lab for his groundbreaking research on African Drumming Laws.
Vineet Vyas | Instructor - Tabla
Vineet has been an active performer in the Canadian music scene since the World Exposition 1986, Vancouver, BC. In 1987, he began studying with Pandit Kishan Maharaj in Benares, in the traditional style of Guru-shishya parampara. After intense training and sadhana (dedication) to his guru, Vineet firmly established himself as an accomplished tabla artist. Vineet has performed with some of India's eminent classical artists such as Us. Amjad Ali Khan, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Pt Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Us. Aashish Khan, Us. Shahid Parvez, and Dr. L. Subramaniam as well as contemporary musicians from numerous genres.
Aditya Kalyanpur | Instructor - Tabla
Aditya Kalyanpur (a.k.a. “AK”) is a tabla (Indian hand-drums) maestro who has worked with some of the most legendary individuals in the music industry. His playing can be heard on Katy Perry’s “Legendary Lovers” from her multi-platinum album “Prism,” he’s recorded with The Rolling Stones’ Keith Richards, and he’s performed with Oscar- and GRAMMY-winning composer A.R. Rahman (“Slumdog Millionaire). A child prodigy, Aditya studied tabla under the aegis of the late, legendary Ustad Allah Rakha, famous for his collaboration with Indian global icon, Pandit Ravi Shankar, and his son, two-time GRAMMY-winner Ustad Zakir Hussain.
Neelamjit Dhillon | Instructor - Flute
Neelamjit has a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies (majoring in saxophone performance) from Capilano University and has also completed a Bachelor of Education degree in Secondary Music Education from the University of British Columbia. He has completed an MFA in tabla performance at the California Institute of the Arts [CalArts] and am now pursuing my doctorate.
Raginder Momi | Instructor - Violin
Raaginder is a young upcoming violinist and music composer from the bay area. born in a musical family, Raaginder has always been surrounded many different types of music in his upbringing. he first started playing the violin when he was 11 years old and then became a disciple of a renowned indian classical violinist, Dr. Sisirkana dhar choudhury. He has studied at the California institute of the arts (calarts) where he received his Bachelors of fine arts in world music performance. during his time at calarts, he trained under sarod maestro, Ustaad aashish khan.
